The next Science with a Twist event will occur on September 29, 2023, from 6-8 PM at Guggman Haus Brewing Company. The event will feature Dr. Samina Akbar, President-Elect of the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ.
Dr. Samina Akbar is a Professor of Microbiology at Marian
University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is interested in
bacterial pathogenesis and the role of antibiotic resistance in
bacterial virulence. She is also interested in DEIB issues in
academia and is serving on DEIB committees both for the IAS
and for the American Society for Microbiology. Her talk will
discuss environmental antibiotic resistance in Indiana.
